  • Alleva Coppolo LG5 Standard Dakota Red

Coppolo basses are often known for instruments in vintage specs where would go with nitro finish when they possibly can.  I did have a few opportunities to try out a few LG5 Standards and this happened to be a pretty impressive one.

  • Fender American Performer Precision bass

Fender has been offering lower end American made instrument since the early year 2000.  It started with Highway One where it’s a mixture of American and Mexican made parts that were assembled/finished in Corona factory . Later on the line was replaced American Special in around 2010, and eventually the line evolved into American Performer line in 2018....

  • Alleva Coppolo LG4 Classic Supreme - Alabama build

    Intro:

Being a lucky one that owns pretty much all of Jimmy’s 5 string product lines, and pretty much owning most of the sounds I want in the electric bass category, I was asking myself .. what’s next ..

  • Fender American Performer Mustang Short Scale bass

I’m a long term fan of short scale bass. It’s smaller, lighter and the shorter scale length just fits my asian hand better.  My first bass was an early 2000 Ampeg AMB1 bass, bought the bass when I was like 17 years old with my first part-time salary.  As my bass adventure goes throughout the years, knowing how a bass should sounded

  • Alleva Coppolo - RA5 Standard

For a short period of time in the early 70, Fender came up with a bass that has alder body(60s) plus an all maple neck(70s) later on they started building basses with ash body, but these ‘transition’ basses had earned their reputation in bass history, the most famous one is probably Geddy Lee’s 72 jazz bass, the tuxedo.
Named after a New York bassist playing the same bass. RA is Jimmy Coppolo’s take of this special ones, and it happened to be the best of both world.
