First build of 2021,  1/24 Scopedog Turbo Custom (OVA - Root of Ambition version) by Wave / Takara from the classic 80s anime Armored Trooper - Votoms .     This was original made by Takara in the 90s, and later got bought out by Wave and re-released with additional parts in, also comes with resin and photo etching parts for finer details.    In my opinion, this one beats all the bandai's gundam of the time.  and they've capture tha solid dumass look that many prefers over the later 1/20 release by bandai .     

Build process:
This is an old school kit that has been sitting on my shelf for about 20 years, half assembled.  I'm enjoying going back to old school modeling after being spoiled by bandai for the past 20+ years.    gluing parts together, filling, sanding and preparation ..   no more inner frame, and fancy part seperations.     As I grew older with less time available, I decided not to finish the inner cockpit and pilot .   The 1/20 bandai votoms release nailed all the details.  Check out the wips on the similar item panel.

Finishing:
Majority of the finishes are done with Tamiya acrylic paint, I got too many of those in the drawer and have all the colours I need, so gotta used them up ..     beside they get scratched easily, the colours are totally fine and they're very easy to work with.   Just need to put on clear coat to protect the surface.    First attempt with 2 tone shading, then decided to add another highlight layer.   it's basically dark / medium / and highlight .   The result is satisfying.  Panel lines are done with Tamiya enamels.   I thought about doing some weathering before I started, but later decided not to ruin the finish.
