2 years after the release of the original short scale Stingray , I'm still digging this serious little guy...    to the point I had to buy another brandnew one...

Throughout the years, instrument design evolves, but mostly a little at a time Often manufactures would put their 1 or 2 signature product in all kinds of variations possible and try to squeeze out as much value as they possibly can and calling them

Background:
Throughout the years, there're always a few special instrument coming from EBMM in a small run and this bass is a truely a GEM from the year 2008.

Myself had always been a fan of Alleva Coppolo basses.  Got obsessed years ago when I first try one and I've never looked back.  This is the instrument that ended my first stage of fancy bass adventure and decide to sit down and practice more;  Soon after the 2nd season started, of course to out beat a Coppolo bass, you'll need more Coppolo basses ..   lol .. 

Soon after Musicman Stingray was introduced in the mid-late 70s, active bass had become the new fasion when it comes to electric bass design. High output, active EQ . Stuart Spector probably built basses that represents this thick, puchy to hell the best. that is a very distinct sound for 80s

My last time buying a new bass from local music store was around 12 years ago, and in the past 10+ years, I’ve never decided to buy a new bass on the spot, on the first sight, unless it’s a crazy deal on something used. Here's comes another best work that a top builder can possibly offer in the high end bass world.  This is what Fbass brought to the Namm show in 2018 to please the bass society.

Fodera has been building high end fancy electric basses (and now guitar) for over 30 years and to me their level of craftsmanship is simply the highest in the industry. And in about 2013-2014, they've incorporated more machineries in their production flow and were able to build more quality basses in a larger quantity, that's the time where these Standard line comes in the market. Basically noddeling out the whole thing in 45mins and I was lucky enough to sit in front of the workstation to capture it.  Hopefully 2019 will be a more productive year.

Beside the jazz or precision, the Musicman Stingray is probably the 3rd most popular electric bass out there.    Design by Leo Fender and Tom Walker and test  drive by Sterling Ball , the bass was introduced to the market in 1976 by Musicman, and later on the company  became Ernie Ball Musicman.
